Description

The Museum of Me follows a little girl on a journey of discovery to find out what museums are and what they hold in store for us all. Brimming with anticipation, our young protagonist encounters giant bugs and peculiar beasts; ancient pots and contemporary paintings; feathery leaves and flowers as big as her own head. Marvelling at objects old, new, out-of-doors and from outer space, she soon realises that her favourite museum of all is waiting for her at home: the Museum of Me. This work explores why we collect and preserve objects, and celebrates how a collection can reflect our individual identities.
Winner of the Opera Prima Bologna Ragazzi Award 2017, and shortlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize 2017, The Museum of Me is Illustrated in the distinctive collaged style of début author Emma Lewis. An illustrator and designer from London, Lewis works across books, editorial and design, and is largely inspired by naïve and folk art, and mid-century picture books.
