National School of Arts Festival of Fame

The National School of Arts held their 10th annual Festival of Fame on the 2nd of March 2013. The main objective of this year’s event was to develop the skills of the students and provide an opportunity for assessment for the leaners while providing them with a forum to showcase their talent with an audience watching. The famous programme YO TV that airs on SABC  1 was also present and facilitated a talent show for the students at National School of Arts, they also gave out goodie bags for those who were willing to perform on stage.

Amongst the various prominent art figures that were present were David Koloane, Pat Molautsi and Patrick Rorke.  Two womens non profit organisations were there, Imbali and Izimbali, and they were selling perfectly beaded jewellery from recycled goods and fabric. Imbali visual literacy project’s vision is to enable development of visual literacy and art making skills and create a sense of individual identity and they print and dye fabric too. Also present was singer by the name of Eddie who captivated quite an audience with his melodius tunes and wonderful voice.The students from NSA also performed plays and musicals while others exhibited their art in the gallery.It was a great day for showcasing talent, marketing and networking and we are glad to have been there and to have gotten the opportunity to establish good working relationships.
