Word Art at 151: Hosting Woordenaar 2 on Wednesday 15 March 18:30

It is with great pleasure that David Krut Bookstore announces the launch of its poetry program, Word Art at 151.

The launch of this series of Wednesday night poetry sessions will be accompanied by Woordenaar, a collective of performers including Paul Riekert, Kabous Verwoed, Gerard Rudolf, Johan Jack Smith and Niel van Deventer who integrate spoken word poetry with musical performance and visuals.

This first event will kick-start a program that is dedicated to different forms of word performance and creative writing exploring different languages, themes and cultural influences.

Look out for a wide variety of anthologies, journals and poetic collections, written and published locally, available from our bookstores

Word Art at 151 sessions provide a collaborative space in which poets and audiences connect whilst engaging in the promotion of poetic content from upcoming poets and established veterans in the industry; and building relationships with South African poetry publishing houses and anthologies such as New Coin, Deep South Press, Botsotso Publishing, African Sun Press, Stanzas, to name a few.
