This educational supplement is published together with the TAXI Art Book on Steven Cohen. Steven Cohen is a pioneering artist best known for his performances and public interventions. He challenges the boundaries of traditional media and modes of expression and provocatively confronts issues of identity. Cohen’s art can be studied as part of the Grade 12 syllabus in the module of contemporary South African art and in other more general contexts, like debates around the freedom of artistic creativity.
